Time to raise the Alberta corporate tax rate

Should Canada’s National Pipeline be used to stimulate petroleum related environmental clean-up activity?

Record oil production means record oil profits and most likely record environmental damage.

I believe it’s time for the Canadian petroleum industry (70% foreign owned) to direct some of the record profits into addressing the environmental legacy and liability left behind while earning these record profits in this province.

The Alberta petroleum industry enjoys the lowest corporate tax rate in Canada while Alberta has the lowest minimum wage, municipalities are begging the UCP government to force the petroleum industry (and the provincial government for that matter) to pay the back taxes they owe Albertans, Alberta students receive the lowest per-capita funding in Canada, the health care and education systems are in crisis and have been underfunded and disrespected for several decades now.

I believe an environmental tax on each barrel of oil flowing thru Canada’s National Pipeline could be placed in a financial trust account to ensure the environmental damage and the associated costs to clean it up aren’t left for the taxpayer to fund.

I believe it is time for the Federal Government to ensure Canadians are protected from the substantial financial and environmental liabilities that remain unfunded by the petroleum industry.

I also call on the provincial government to raise the Alberta corporate tax rate to address the substantial and chronic underfunding of public services in this province.

Trudeau a coward

Putin a Coward – Calgary Sun

It is reported that during Trudeau’s photo op in Ukraine ‘Trudeau launched a blistering attack on Putin, calling the ‘Russian leader a weakling” who uses police and the military to crush his opposition’.

This from our cowardly PM who ran and hid from the Freedom Convoy while he unleashed an army of unbadged ‘secret police’ on peaceful protesters opposed to his Covid mandate policies. Just another reason to Vote For Anyone But Trudeau

Premier Smith not listening

Alberta pension

Just listened to 770 talk radio.

So Premier Smith drags up again, what she refused to discuss during the election as she was Very Aware that the majority of Albertans want nothing to do with her obsession of dragging Alberta out of the Canada Pension Plan.

When is she going to listen to us the people of Alberta. We have made it clear that we have no interest in leaving the CPP. She is showing her devious, deceitful true self.

So this begs the question who in the conservative cabal is so keen to wreak this disaster on Albertans. We want no part of AIMCO. Just ask Teachers, Firemen or police what they think of the losses incurred by that group.

Again call or email your MLA and voice your concerns. We must put a stop to this once and for all.

Trudeau picking our pockets ?

TAX TAX TAX and more TAX. That is where we are now at. No money left over to buy ANYTHING.

This means all businesses will be going out of business. We are paying tax on every last thing we do, or used to do.

57 cents on a liter of gas. That is theft, it’s our gas, we the people own it, but we have no say. The city has gone mad with the foolish things they do. Spending money they don’t have. Just raise taxes and now carbon tax, every where you turn.

Someone better do something fast because this is far more destructive than climate change ever will be. Another foolish expense which has made exactly no difference at all in climate change and it never will.

Climate change is here to stay period. We have to live with it. That is a fact. We were never poor before, but we are getting there fast….Real fast.

Volcano Erupts

On December 28, 2021, the most powerful volcano erupted in the Pacific Ocean near the island of Tonga. The ash was recorded as high as outer space with many megatons of water vapour plus greenhouse gases, etc. Within 2 weeks of its eruption it had circled the entire earth.

This could remain in the atmosphere for up to 10 years. As water vapour is the cause of temperatures on the earth, the scientists do not know if the temperatures will rise or cool. So the jury is out although shortly after the eruption countries like Australia experienced extreme flooding. As what goes up must come down no doubt there will be flooding, violent storms and if we cool, crop failures and starvation.

Instead of listening to the UN, mainstream media and the Davis elites do some research yourself as this was never reported in the mainstream media but definitely affects the world’s climate.

Fascism in Alberta?

According to the CBC News, Alberta’s sovereignty act “… would grant her cabinet new powers to bypass the legislative assembly and unilaterally amend provincial laws.”

How interesting this law should appear so much like another piece of legislation that states, “Article 1: … laws of the (territory) may also be enacted by the cabinet of the (territory).”, and, “Article 2: Laws so enacted may deviate from the constitution…”.

They go on to state, “… the Alberta government plans to not enforce federal [laws] it decides are “harmful” to Alberta’s interests …” . This sounds very much like the title of the above mentioned legislation, “Law to Remedy the Distress of the People and the Nation”.

Unfortunately, the quoted law is titled, “The Enabling Act” and was passed in March 1933 by Hitler’s Nazi party to bypass the democratic rights of its citizens, just as Albert’s “Sovereignty Act” does.

Canadians are currently suffering through an era of politicians of poor quality and Alberta’s premier has won ‘prize pig’ among them. This, and other similar approaches to legislation across the country, signals a rise in fascism in our politicians.
