Carney flip flops
| Dear Prime Minister Mark Carney, I am writing to express my profound disappointment regarding your recent speech in which you offered what appeared to be unconditional support for the United States and Israel attack on Iran. Your remarks stand in stark contrast to the principled position you articulated at the World Economic Forum in Davos, where you stated that Canada would no longer support the actions of a global hegemon undermining a rules-based international order. At that time, many Canadians felt reassured that our country would reclaim an independent and principled voice on the world stage—one grounded firmly in international multilateralism, and restraint. The recent speech, however, suggests a departure from that commitment. By appearing to endorse military action absent clear multilateral authorization or broad international consensus, Canada risks contradicting its longstanding advocacy for diplomacy, proportionality, and adherence to international legal norms. When our words and actions diverge, our credibility inevitably suffers. Canada has often been compared to Norway as a middle power committed to peacebuilding and the promotion of international law. Yet where Norway has maintained a consistent emphasis on mediation and legal frameworks, Canada now appears to be shifting toward alignment that may undermine its reputation as an honest broker. This perceived inconsistency risks diminishing our moral authority when we speak out against violations of international law elsewhere. If Canada is to maintain global respect and influence, it must demonstrate coherence between its stated principles and its foreign policy grounded in consistent values. Real Canada please stand up
| May you live in interesting times What a unique moment in Canadian history! We had a Conservative Party sweep of the parliament imminent when out of the blue Mark Carney jumps in replacing Justin Trudeau and forms a minority government with the Liberal Party of Canada. Mr. Carney is elected with the support of many Canadians who would have normally voted NDP or Green. This support from Canada’s left leaning voters was for a right-leaning Liberal leader who stole many of the PC policies and leanings. Now those very people who helped the Liberals into power are very nervous as the right leaning government races to secure investment in Canada by offering fast tracking of projects and reducing “onerous” regulation and consultation requirements by having selected projects go through a single government regulatory body. To further complicate things Steven Guilbeault (who deserves a lot of respect) resigns from cabinet but remains in the Liberal Caucus, over the signing of a MOU between the federal government and the government of Alberta, due to that agreement’s effect on the Climate Change policy of the Canadian government. Mr. Carney argues that 1) previous policies were not working, 2) the threat of economic destabilization by the American Administration means we need to make economic policy more of a priority and 3) his government is still committed to working towards climate change goals just in a different way. The Liberal coalition is showing cracks over these environmental and consultation issues. At the same time two members of the Conservative caucus cross the floor to join the Liberal party leaving the Liberals one seat from a majority government with the possible prospect of no election for four years. And why not? This government is definitely leaning way to the right. Mr. Poilievre rather than supporting the things he could support continues to obstruct and attack anything the government does. So where does this leave us, the Canadian voter? Most Canadians do not want another election. Most Canadians are concerned about “affordability”. Most Canadians care about the environment. Now I don’t know how my fellow Canadians feel about the coming election. I was filled with hope. Many reasons for it to which I will not list but we all know them as voting Canadians. We worry, we fear and we need leadership, party consolidarity and not name calling. We want the plans, the options, the knowledge through leadership that you are doing all you can for our economic survival and sovereignty. Nothing but questions! So many questions! Big questions requiring big answers. As our leaders, our representatives, the voice of Canada, can you give Canadians what we need most which is unity, a plan, solidarity, and leadership? Stand together, show unity, decorum and respect….after all we are all on the same side of the border. You have forgotten that you represent Canada, you speak for me, for us and for those that cannot. You act for Canada, me, us and for those who cannot. You are me as you face the world. As the face and voice of Canada, can you not step up and show our neighbors and the world that we will not lower ourselves to childlike name calling nor engage in disrespectful conduct that is truly unbecoming of any Canadian representative? Respect because if you disrespect each other, then chances are that you will do no less to me or to another country. Hasn’t that been done enough across the border? Really does anyone respect him? Or trust him? You want my vote, show me in your actions that you as our Canadian representative have the right stuff because if this is all you can do and this is all I can expect then step down as you don’t belong in the political arena as you are only interested in throwing insults. Liberals ulterior motive?
| Trudeau and his band of self serving crooks! I came upon this article. “He’s disgusting! He’s ramming through another bill to extend the date for the next election? It’s because 80!!! of his cronies won’t get their life pensions if it’s held on Oct 18/25. They’d be 3 days short. So he wants the date changed to the 25th, using the excuse that the 18th would interrupt Diwali celebrations!! Speaker thrown under the bus?
| Liar, liar, pants on fire or so the saying goes. Since the scandal broke about the PMO invitation to a Ukrainian Nazi veteran it is revealed the Liberals put the blame on Anthony Rota and are attempting to distance themselves from this boondoggle. Pierre Poilievre called Justin a Trudeau a liar which is befitting because he constantly lies which has been proven time and again. If Mr. Trudeau held himself to his own standard, he’d resign but Canadians know that’s not about to happen. Is it any wonder why Mr. Poilevre is 15 points ahead in the polls? The NDP are a shifty lot as well as Charlie Angus has submitted a bill that would send Canadians to jail who offer support to the gas and oil industry. Canadians are paying Mr. Angus and his staff a salary to conjure these bizarre suggestions, but Charlie has been known to concoct ridiculous aberrations in the past. Charlie Angus and Jagmeet Singh continue to disparage the Liberals but buoys their delusional policies which gives you some idea of how the NDP think-tank fails to gain any respect or will never form government. The minute Alberta Premier Danielle Smith and Saskatchewan’s Premier Moe Scott catches wind of this scheme, the hostile response may produce a massif explosive repercussion throughout the provinces and territories.
